Ambrette is the champagne of scents, it is truly a high-end product that few brands and perfumers use. It is a plant-based musk, with great finesse and very elegant scents. The ambrette is native to India and the tropical forests of Asia, it is found on the equator north of Guayaquil, in Indonesia, Peru and India.

Ambrette seed, also known as muskus seed, is derived from the Abelmoschus moschatus, commonly known as hibiscus (the flower). Ambrette imparts sweet, musky powderiness to perfumes, elevating them with a sense of opulence and luxury. As it resembles musk compounds, it is also called vegetable musk.

Ambrette is rendered from a type of hibiscus and is referred to as the vegetal equivalent of musk. It is ever so slightly ambery (but more animalic) and becomes sweeter during its long dry down.

Lightly perfumed, the signature of this formula is fresh and soft thanks to a combination of citrus and fruit that gives Baby (and Mummy) a very special fragrance.

It is velvety, woody and ambery, with animalic, creamy and mineral facets. Its used as a base note in perfumes, employed to 'ground' scents and provide an excellent longevity to a fragrance.
